DevOps is not a tool or service, it is a methodology. Using this methodology the entire software development life cycle could be automated. It is the union of people, processes, and products to enable continuous delivery of value to the end-users. Both AWS and Azure aim to automate the software development lifecycle. Now let’s see the differences between the two cloud giants. AWS DevOps vs Azure DevOps
Service
Integration: AWS DevOps allows users to easily integrate AWS
services like EC2, and S3, in just a few clicks while Azure DevOps allows users to
integrate Azure services like Azure VM, Azure App Services, and SQL databases
and also it’s even easier to integrate with third-party tools like Jenkins, as
they have a huge eco-system for third party editions.
Managing
Packages in Software: If you take any software you will need a
package manager like if you are working on Angular or any node-based framework
you will surely need a node package manager and manage this NPM you will need a
package manager. In AWS DevOps if you have to manage a package you need to
integrate an external software or a third-party software like Artifactory while
Azure has a package manager tool called Azure Artifacts to manage the packages
like Nuget, Maven, etc.
Best
Feature: AWS DevOps
can easily automate a complete code deployment with AWS services, on the other
hand, Azure DevOps has Kanban boards, workflows, and a huge extension ecosystem.
